Launching the Rural Youth Climate Action Movement (RYCAM) for Cool Farming Project

Empowering the rural youth for sustainable agriculture in Indonesia

The Rural Youth Climate Action Movement (RYCAM) for Cool Farming was launched with a kick-off workshop on 22- 24 April 2024. The project, which will run until March 2027, promotes nature-based ‘cool farming’ and aims to empower young farmers while promoting gender inclusivity. Key activities include school challenges on climate resilience in the AFOLU sector, feasibility analysis of emissions-neutral agriculture, net-zero agro-ecopreneurship competitions and the development of guidelines for net-zero farming start-ups. The aim is to inspire and equip young people, especially Generation Z, to support food security in Indonesia.
