The Development Policy Discussion Days (DPDD) have been organized annually since 2002 by the SLE in cooperation with the Heinrich-Boell-Foundation (hbs). The aim is to promote the exchange between development policy and development policy practice, science and the private sector. The DPDD consists of three events and is very popular. In 2020, we recorded 1400 participants, making us one of the most popular development policy events in Berlin.

At the DPDD, speakers from various organizations discuss current and controversial topics. The content and organizational preparation and moderation of the DPDD is in the hands of both SLE participants and Heinrich Böll Foundation scholarship holders. Supported by the SLE staff, they write topic-related briefing papers. This means that DPDDs are also an important part of training at SLE.

DPDD 2024

The Development Policy Discussion Days(EPDT) will take place this year on 27. and May 28, 2024 takes place. As the SLE postgraduate programme is being held entirely in English for the first time this year in the context of its internationalization, the panel discussions will also be held in English (with the option of simultaneous translation into German). We are also pleased to welcome the European Association of Development Institute (EADI) as a cooperation partner this year.
